Few people are lucky enough to have lasting memories of all four grandparents. Fewer still were blessed enough to acquire a fifth. Remembering Marg Ruddick-Parke today, one of the most stoic, quietly confident, generous, hard working, and creative people I’ve ever known. Also the most committed and inspirational gardener with her rose bower on the river. Thank you for bringing a different level of contentment to George in his later life. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your home, your painting and your beautiful garden with me and for your cheeky but ecstatically received house warming present of a rose gardener’s start up kit to transform a cow paddock some 20 years ago. It shames me to say I have no roses in my current garden. Today I thought about you, the many cups of tea we shared poring over the wishing books from Treloars and Ross Roses and digging dirt out of fingernails and thorns out of fingers. I’ve picked out a place, and I’ve got a short-list of 5 to start. I’ll pick up the trowel again, and get that boy of mine swinging on a shovel. Thank you for everything and may you rest in peace on a riverbank somewhere with abundant Monet-ish surroundings (and a couple of gums).
Condolences to Christine, Lyell and families…I am so sorry I could not be there yesterday.

Margaret, such a kind-hearted, cheerful, gentle, sunny soul. A true lady & a talented artist. For many years we have cherished the beautiful china & ceramic items you hand-painted. They are as lovely and in perfect condition as when you painted each one. Your beautiful garden was as inspirational as you Margret, a credit to your hard work, determination and devotion.
Blessings to you Margaret and condolences to your family.
Love & Prayers from Naomi & Rick, Noeleen & Wal.
