Mary was a great collector and curator of family and regional history, her role in conserving this and sharing with others has made our communities so much the richer. I will miss Mary who provided so many family (Chandler) connections across generations. I too remember the lovely Cardross Lamington bakes which we are able to feature recently on ABC Mildura and Swan Hill.

Thank you for your wonderful friendship Mary. A fun memory I have is of taking you on a houseboat overnight trip out of Mildura – you said you had been on the river for many day outings but never overnight – and you did enjoy it very much. Mind you Bernie Fox stayed home at your place with Henrietta and Minette – and Miss Henrietta ate his chicken dinner he left on the kitchen table – we all laughed about that often afterwards. Some really lovely times with you, especially hearing you and Bernie Fox plotting and scheming – now wonderful memories. Thank you Mary, it has been an absolute pleasure to have known you and I have been bettered by this.

Dear Mary, our working together at Rural Water Commission lead to a continued friendship long afterwards. I always enjoyed our long lunches at the Red Cliffs club and we always had plenty to talk about with your interest in my family and our activities on the fruit block and I was always Interested to hear about your latest activity keeping you busy and then we also had gardening to talk about. You loved showing me your garden and always offering me cuttings (which some are still going strong and I will continue to treasure). Thank you for your friendship RIP
