I had the pleasure of seeing Mike at Mum and Dad’s recent passings, in Mike and Leonie’s home ,that I had fond memories of from when I was a kid. Leonie was a vey kind support during this sad time. Mike was a co-worker at Mildura Tech and a great friend to my Dad. He taught me Screen printing back in the 90’s as an elective for the Sunny TAFE’S Designer dressmaking course.
Heart felt condolences to Leonie & family at this time

I moved up to Mildura in 1980 to commence a teaching career in what was to be Sunraysia Institute of TAFE. With no buildings/facilities and a blank playbook of adult/community education and training, we proceeded to take art to the wider community. Notty, as Head of Department led the way delivering lead lighting workshops to communities as geographically diverse as Pooncarie and Murrayville while leading the teaching of the Tertiary Orientation Program. Notty, in the workplace, cultivated at times a brusque manner which masked a soft, generous heart underneath. He always went the extra mile in providing help, support or advice to his staff or students. He will always be to me, affectionately, head of the art department.
Sincere condolences to Leonie and family.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Mike @ my mother’s funeral about the dumbing down of tertiary education & other societal grievances. Passionate pedagogues are a godsend & Mike fit that auspicious type. May you rest in peace, mon frere. Deepest sympathies to Leonie & family.

Caroline and all the family on the loss of a true and caring person in Michael.
Will miss his smile and handshake every time I was lucky enough to see him at the RSL club.
