I am particularly sad to be unable to be there to sing at Merle’s funeral.

Merle was my second cousin, and as well as playing tennis with my mother, she also taught me to play tennis when I was a teenager, then my three kids also in the Sacred Heart Tennis Club. What an amazing woman and her contribution to Sunraysia, largely ‘unsung,’ will long endure.

Such sad news, Merle will be sorely missed.

I would very much like to be at her funeral on Wednesday but unfortunately I will be on my way to Hobart.

Please pass on my condolences to Merle’s family, she really was
    one of a kind.
    Sincerely,
    Jodi Reynolds.

I did see on my Facebook of the sad news regarding the passing of Merle.

In my second week in this job Merle was one of the first volunteers I had the pleasure to meet. She was one of a kind and the work she undertook for tennis in the region was immense.

I’m glad she got to see the tribute plaque and the website upload!

If my timing was a little better I would have attended the funeral from a Tennis Victoria perspective, but could I ask you to pass on my condolences from me to her family?

Dear Doug and my cousins. We are very sad about Merle’s death. We have so many wonderful memories of her. We are sorry that we cannot get to Mildura for her Farewell, as we are in five different states and CV-19 restrictions make it not possible. Love from the Val Carney Clan
