Born in Benestare Reggio Calabria, Italy on January 1, 1932, and passed away peacefully in Mildura on May 14, 2026 aged 94 years.
Much loved husband of Maria (dec) and Phina. Loving father and father-in-law of Ida and Antonio (dec); Domenico and Gaye; Francesca and Rocco. Adored Nonno of Matteo, Marco, Carmine, Carlo, Gaetano, Damian, Adrian, Domenico, Graziano, Liana, and their partners. Great Nonno of 18. Son of the late Domenico and Filomena, loved brother of Giuseppina, Teresa, and Giuseppe (all dec). Treasured Uncle to all his nieces and nephew.
Family and friends of the late Mr. Carmelo Zappia are respectfully informed that his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eleventh Street Mildura on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at 2.00pm. At the conclusion of the Mass the cortege will proceed to the Nichols Point Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eleventh Street Mildura Tuesday May 19, at 7.00pm.
If preferred in lieu flowers, donations to The Festa of San Rocco would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

I have such fond memories of living next door to such a kind and generous neighbour. I will always remember the car pooling with all the neighbourhood families, catching the bus together, and the wonderful sense of community that was created through those years.
Those memories have stayed with me well into adulthood and are a reflection of a life lived with warmth, care, and kindness toward others.
