One of my earliest memories is Uncle Terry swooping me safely onto his shoulders as a wave surprised us while on a family holiday at the coast. It was not the last time Terry would help me in a pinch.
My deepest love and condolences to the families and friends who miss that safe and loving hand in their life.
    Farewell Uncle Terry.

Today is a sad day for all our families. Terry & I met at a New Year’s Eve Dance at Karoonda in 1969. We were “smitten” and danced the night away into the New Year of 1970. We dated every Saturday with Terry picking me up from home at Bakara in the SA Mallee in his VC Valiant. On 29th July 1972 we were married at the Swan Reach Lutheran Church and made our home in a farm house we rented in New Residence. Sadly our first child, little Amy, was stillborn in Adelaide 5 weeks premature. We finally got up enough courage to try to start a family again a few years later and Justin then Melanie completed our family. Terry managed a large horticultural property at New Residence called Solente Estate following the death of the French owner in the early 1970’s. He was a progressive person and introduced the first Mechanical grape harvester to the region and was involved with trials of mechanical olive harvesters. We worked hard and were able to purchase a portion of the original Kassulke farm and floodplains in the 1980’s and built a new home overlooking the Yatco Lagoon and River Murray. This was a great playground for Justy & Mel to fish, yabby, camp, motorbike and horse riding. In 1993 Terry took on the role of developing a vineyard on the Darling River at Old Burtundy between Wentworth & Pooncarie for the Buronga Hill Winery. Justy, Mel & I moved over in January 1994 ready for Mel to start High School at Coomealla High and Justin worked for Terry to help develop the vineyard. I did the property bookwork and budgets. Board meetings were days to remember with a bottle of wine drank after each motion was moved to get a majority vote. I also working in the office at the Buronga Hill Winery during vintage. Terry & I were married for 22 years and are very proud of what we achieved with 2 children we are very proud of and 4 unique and wonderful grandchildren, a son & daughter-in-law we loved to welcome into our family.
Today is a sad day and so many great memories and stories will be told.
Rest in Peace now Terry. You will never be forgotten.
